TULSA, Okla. – Less than two months after marrying his high school sweetheart, an Oklahoma teenager who was battling cancer has died.

Swift Myers had been battling cancer since the seventh grade and has beaten it six times.

However, it came back for a seventh time, which sent him to the intensive care unit at Saint Francis Children’s Hospital in Tulsa.

Friends say he was never fighting it alone.

Myers met Abbi Ruiker the summer before their sophomore year at Charles Page High School and the pair began dating a short time later.

After waking up from a coma this past summer, Myers immediately asked Ruiker to marry him.

“I was never kidding,” he told the Tulsa World. “I knew we were always going to get married.”

They immediately made plans to tie the knot in the hospital, in front of family, friends and the nursing staff.

Tragically, Swift passed away less than two months after their wedding.

According to FOX 23, Swift  passed away on Friday night.
