DANIA BEACH, Fla. – It’s a crime that is relatively common, but can serve as a warning to female drivers at gas stations.

Janelle Della-Libera says everything happened in a split second.

While she was pumping gas, a man opened the door to her car and grabbed her purse.

Della-Libera noticed a second too late, but that didn’t stop her from chasing him.

In fact, she even jumped onto the hood of his car as he left the gas station in Dania Beach, Florida.

“I reached into the driver’s side. I had my hand on my handbag and, at that point, he drove off,” she told WPLG.

Despite being on his windshield, the alleged thief continued driving, which caused Della-Libera to fall.

His car even drove over her leg, leading to a sprain and several lacerations. Fortunately, she is expected to make a full recovery.

So far, no arrests have been made.
