Child injured in accident near Edmond middle school

OKLAHOMA COUNTY, Okla. – A child was taken to a nearby hospital after being hit by a car near an Edmond school.

Around 3 p.m., Oklahoma City officers were called to an accident near Heartland Middle School, near N.W. 195th and Pennsylvania Ave.

Initial reports indicate the victim is a 12-year-old child, who was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials say the girl did not look both ways before attempting to cross the street and was hit by a Toyota 4Runner.
