OKLAHOMA CITY - It's been one of the creepiest news stories around the nation.
There have been reports of clowns spotted all over Ohio, Wisconsin and South Carolina allegedly luring children into the woods.
Now, some Oklahoma City residents say there have been sightings around the metro.
"Just said they saw one out there on S.W. 59th and Western. Saw him on the corner," Wayne Mullins said about a friend who claims to have seen a clown.
Others posting online say a creepy clown was allegedly spotted at S.W. 50th and Pennsylvania Ave. and S.W. 22nd St. and Agnew.
However, Oklahoma City police say they have not received any reports.
"I think it's stupid that people use them for their amusement or whatever or to scare or disgust other people," Mark Brewer said.
"People looking for attention, about it," Wayne Mullins said.
Bricktown Clowns of Oklahoma told News Channel 4, "We are highly skilled trained FAMILY entertainers and whoever is trying scare people like this is clearly someone who is just wearing a costume."
An online threat is worrying some residents about their safety.
A Facebook post claims that an attack will happen in south Oklahoma City on Halloween.
"Wow. Looks like this year we're going to have to think hard on if we're going to take our kids out. You never know what could happen,” Anna Ramirez said.
Oklahoma City police tell us they haven't gotten any reports and say there's no evidence of threats to the public whatsoever.
