EL RENO, Okla. – A traffic stop along a busy interstate led to the discovery of more than 100 pounds of marijuana.

On Sept. 27, a deputy with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office spotted a car hauler that was following too closely to another vehicle and pulled them over along I-40.

While speaking with the driver, the deputy asked to search the three vehicles on the car hauler.

Pickles, a drug sniffing dog, alerted the deputy to drugs in a vehicle that was set to be delivered to someone in Kansas City.

Authorities found 60 pounds of marijuana inside voids of the floor and rear cargo area of the SUV.

The driver was not arrested since he was not part of the drug operation, but officials were able to arrest six people in Kansas City.

Once inside the alleged suspect’s home, another 70 pounds of marijuana was found with drug paraphernalia.
