Stillwater police searching for clues related to early morning shooting

STILLWATER, Okla. – Authorities in Stillwater are searching for a suspect accused of shooting a 21-year-old man.

Just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Stillwater officers were called to the 1500 block of N. Boomer Rd. after residents heard gunshots in the area.

When police arrived, they found a 21-year-old man suffering from at least two gunshot wounds. The victim was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital for treatment.

A short time later, authorities┬álearned about the alleged suspect’s vehicle.

Deputies with the Payne County Sheriff’s Office found vehicle just south of Stillwater and attempted to pull over the driver.

However, the driver led deputies on a chase that ended in the Guthrie area.

The vehicle was eventually found abandoned near I-35 and Covell Rd.
