HUGHES COUNTY, Okla. – One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting near the town of Wetumka, in Hughes County.

Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said 39-year-old Dylan Rogers was arrested following a pursuit with Wetumka Police.

Rogers slipped out of one cuff and into a Hughes County Sheriff’s car, when he reportedly drove toward a Wetumka officer, according to agents.

Reports say that officer fired once at the suspect, striking Rogers at least once.

Investigators say Rogers died at the scene.  The district attorney will determine if the shooting was justified.
