LOGAN COUNTY, Okla.--A Logan County deputy is fighting for his life after suffering a massive heart attack while on patrol.

"We're all praying for him," Sgt. Greg Velincia, with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, said.

Deputy Jason Wright, 33, was on duty driving down Division Street when he collapsed.

Off-duty Deputy Fleetwood happened to be riding with him and somehow was able to safely stop the truck.

"You could say it was amazing that he had a passenger with him that was able to do that," Sgt. Velincia said.

Wright was rushed to the hospital.

"There have been some feelings around the office of concern, knowing that he's in the hospital," Sgt. Velincia said.

As loved ones surround the husband and father of four, they are thankful someone was there to help him and prevent what could have been a horrible accident on a busy roadway.

"I can't contribute the timing of everything occurring to anything other than God, you know, some divine intervention," Sgt. Velincia said.

An online donation page has been set up for Wright and his family.
