NORMAN, Okla.– Firefighters battled a large house fire in Norman.
The fire was near 24th Avenue NW and Rock Creek.
Fire officials say when they arrived the back of the home was in flames and had moved to the attic.
They say it was hard to fight it since the home was located outside the city’s water distribution zone and there were not any nearby hydrants.
This meant they had to truck water in to the scene.
The homeowner was home at the time and got out safely.
The home is a total loss.
