TULSA, Okla. – A man who spotted a suspected car thief took matters into his own hands.

Jared Peters told FOX 23 that he spotted a man going through his car at his apartment complex after noticing the interior lights were on inside his car.

Peters says he pushed Isaac Franklin to the ground and immediately called 911.

Police say Peters held Franklin on the ground for 15 until they were able to arrive.

“He had a backpack full of stuff. Figure he probably hit seven to 10 cars,” Peters said.

Authorities say they found marijuana, meth, stolen property and an airsoft pistol that looked like a real gun on Franklin.

Officers say Franklin even admitted to breaking into several vehicles at the apartment complex.
