EDMOND, Okla. - Authorities are searching for an alleged thief who targeted the home of a police officer.

The officer was actually watching his home security camera when he saw a stranger walking around inside his home.

Investigators believe the alleged thief kicked in the side door of a garage to get inside the home.

Police say the man allegedly stole the officer's gun, police department shirts and other police-issued items.

"Anytime somebody gets access to law enforcement gear, badges, bullet proof vests, it concerns us because they could pose as an officer or attempt to access areas with credentials," Sgt. James Hamm, with the Edmond Police Department, said.

Authorities say the alleged thief got away just minutes before officers arrived at the home.

If you recognize the alleged suspect, call police.
