CHICO, Calif. – Gus Wyatt Coleman’s birth was anything but usual.

Maddie and Tyler Coleman learned that Maddie would not be able to deliver a baby, so they started looking for a surrogate.

However, they soon learned that they couldn’t afford the $75,000 it would take to find a surrogate mother.

According to KRCR, that’s when 48-year-old Megan Barker stepped in.

Barker is Maddie’s mother and said she wanted to give her daughter and son-in-law the greatest gift she could.

Barker carried little Gus to term and handed over the bundle of joy to her daughter.

“The attachment for me was not an issue as people had predicted, because in my mind it was biologically their baby,” Barker said. “I was just the deluxe Easy-Bake Oven.”
