GREELEY, Colo. - A grandmother says she was simply trying to check something in the driveway when an alleged thief tried to jump into her car.

Michelle Nigra says her 9-year-old and 10-year-old granddaughters were still buckled in the backseat when she got out of her SUV in her driveway.

When she went to the front of the vehicle, a man jumped into the driver's seat.

"I was like, 'Oh no, this isn't gonna happen. This is not gonna happen.' I saw the grandkids over his shoulder screaming," she told KDVR.

Nigra immediately grabbed the door and started wrestling with the man.

Eventually, he fell out of the SUV and took off. Officials say 49-year-old Ralph Carpio Garcia was arrested just a few blocks away.
