Silver alert issued for missing Oklahoma couple

MCALESTER, Okla. – Authorities are searching for an elderly couple who has been reported missing.

The McAlester Police Department issued a silver alert for 78-year-old Gerald Heggie and 75-year-old Nita Heggie.

The pair was reported missing around 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving after family members lost contact with them near St. Louis, Missouri.

According to FOX 23, the couple was headed toward Toledo, Ohio.

Gerald Heggie is described as a white man  with white hair and glasses.

Nita Heggie has strawberry blond hair and is in a wheelchair.

Family members say Nita Heggie has advanced dementia, and Gerald has been showing signs of dementia for the past couple of years.

They may be driving a silver 2010 Hummer HU3 ¬†with Oklahoma license plate “375HTJ.” The Hummer may be pulling a metal boat.
