KIEFER, Okla. – It was a terrifying moment for an Oklahoma couple who found a stranger standing over their baby’s crib.

The parents of the 1-year-old child were sleeping Sunday morning when they were awoken by a loud noise in their house in Kiefer, Okla.

Police say the child’s father went to investigate the noise when he saw a man he had never seen before, standing over his baby’s crib.

That is when the father took matters into his own hands.

“He grabbed ahold of the man, puts him in a bear hug and drags him out of the room,” said Kiefer Police Chief Johnny O’Mara.

The baby’s mother called police while the father kept the man restrained.

The suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Bradley Hill, was taken into custody.

According to KJRH, Hill admitted to police that he wanted to take the baby, but he thought the child belonged to a different family.

“He believed that he was at somebody else’s house and he had intended to take another persons child and coincidence led to a different child being at this residence and he was going to take that child until the father came in and he realized this is not the father of the child that I’m wanting to take,” said O’Mara.

Hill is facing two counts of burglary and attempted kidnapping.
