MOORE, Okla. - A violent hit and run sent a metro man to the hospital.

Police have arrested 19-year-old Shahn Stella for the crime.

Neighbors said Stella chased the victim in his mom’s car.

Investigators think this might have all started with the victim stealing something from Stella, but Stella isn’t cooperating with police.

“Something’s always going on at the house,” said neighbor Sheila Dancer.

The windshield on the car involved in the crash is shattered from where the victim slammed into it.

The victim’s clothes were left behind on the street, ripped off in the crash.

Police said Stella drove right into the victim.

“He flew up on the vehicle and hit the windshield, so I don't know exactly where he was struck or how long he was on the vehicle,” said Sgt. Jeremy Lewis.

Kody Yarberry was across the street from the suspect's home, when he heard someone yell to call 911.

“By the time I got halfway up the driveway, two people left out his front door with a duffle bag,” Yarberry said. “His mom was pulling up, he ran to his mom's car and chased after them.”

Paramedics rushed the victim to the hospital with serious injuries, and the suspect’s mother let police search their home.

“It’s about time. It’s sad that it takes this,” Dancer said.

Stella is facing a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
