Oklahoma 3-year-old seeking cards from strangers for Christmas

NOBLE, Okla. – A family in Noble is hoping that strangers can help make their holiday season a little brighter.

After Kayden was born, his family learned that he had spinal muscular atrophy, which is a terminal neuromuscular disease.

Doctors told his family that he likely wouldn’t live to see his first birthday.

However, Kayden beat the odds and topped their expectations.

Three years later, Kayden is like a lot of other toddlers mentally, but still struggles with some physical ailments associated with the disease.

Kayden’s family says they do everything they can to make sure the disease doesn’t hold him back.

Like other kids his age, he loves race cars and ‘Street Outlaws,’ ¬†bright colors, the movie ‘Frozen’ and receiving mail.

This time of year is special for Kayden, who loves receiving Christmas cards from strangers across the state.

Last year, he received almost 200 Christmas cards from well-wishers.
