Fatal Del City shooting

DEL CITY, Okla. – Police have released more information about a Del City shooting that left one man dead and one man injured.

Around 1 a.m., the store clerk at the 7-Eleven near Scott St. and I-40 Service Rd. heard gunshots, ran outside and found a body in the street.

“The victim was out laying in the street. He had no ID on him, so we had no idea who he is. No wallet, no [other] form of identification was found on him,” said Capt. Ted Kleber with the Del City Police Department.

The victim, later identified as 20-year-old Quaylis Murphy, was pronounced dead at the scene with one gunshot to the chest.

A second person, identified as 22-year-old Bobby Gene Ollerdisse, was found next to Murphy and is recovering in the hospital with injuries to his leg and wrist.

Investigators later learned the two victims were friends.

After searching the scene, police found a gun.

“There were also casings found at the scene, but the gun doesn’t match the casings,” Kleber said.

Investigators are actively searching for a second gun.

“We believe there was another person involved, because the gun is gone. We searched the area again, we went to the roof and we couldn’t find anything,” Kleber said.
