OKLAHOMA CITY- It’s that time of year when generous Oklahomans look beyond their own families to care for others.

An estimated 8,000 children are currently in foster care in Oklahoma.

DHS tries to place children with extended family and friends, but almost every family that opens their home experiences financial strain.

However, there is something you can do.

Visit Oklahoma Foster Wishes and click on the Christmas wishes link to request a wish list to fulfill.

Gifts need to be returned to drop off locations by Dec. 7.
