NORMAN, Okla. – Officers in Norman may soon be outfitted with body cameras in the coming months.

On Monday evening, the Norman Police Department will host a community forum regarding the department’s plan to implement body-worn cameras.

Officers will explain the policy and procedure for use of the cameras, the plan for implementation and to answer questions about the cameras.

The community forum will be held in the City Council Chambers, located at 201 W. Gray St., beginning at 6 p.m.

If the purchase agreement is authorized by the Norman City Council, 75 body-worn cameras will be issued to officers in the spring.
