ABILENE, Texas – When residents head to Lowe’s in Abilene to get supplies for a project, they will likely be greeted by a couple of friendly faces.

Before becoming an associate at Lowe’s, Clay Luthy served in the Air Force. He was deployed three times and had to undergo several surgeries on his knee.

After this last surgery, he learned he wouldn’t be able to re-enlist.

He decided to apply for a job at Lowe’s, but was worried that he wouldn’t get the job because of a sweet Golden Retriever named Charlotte.

Charlotte is Luthy’s service dog and she goes everywhere he does.

When he showed up for his interview, he brought Charlotte along. A few weeks later, the company offered both Luthy and Charlotte a job.

“They schedule me in an area like paint, where Charlotte has a place to sit,” Luthy told KRBC.

For the past two months, the pair has been working at the Abilene Lowe’s and has received glowing reviews from customers.
