OKLAHOMA COUNTY, Okla. – The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office often asks for information regarding suspects and crimes, but now they are looking for a Good Samaritan.

On Sunday, a captain with the sheriff’s office was directing traffic in the Bass Pro Shop parking lot in Bricktown.

While he was working, he was met by a young girl, her brother and their mother.

The little girl said she wanted to show her appreciation by giving him a gift. She gave him a bag, but he didn’t have time to look at the gift at that time.

When things slowed down, he looked inside and found a homemade cap with a thin blue line and a flashlight.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office took to Facebook in hopes of finding the family to thank them in person.

“We would really like to contact the young girl and her family so we can show our appreciation. We know it’s a shot in the dark but hey, it’s Facebook, and we figured if anyone could find out who the gift came from our followers could,” the post read.

If you know the family who made the hat, please call the sheriff’s department or message the department’s Facebook page.
