PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – A Florida woman says she is lucky to be alive after a close call on a highway.

Christina Theisen tells WBBH that she was returning from a business trip when something flew straight at her car.

An aluminum boat paddle had fallen from a motor home and crashed into her windshield.

“I ducked down. It came crashing through the windshield,” she said. “Hit the steering wheel, grazed my shoulder, hit the seat.”

She was able to pull to the side of the road and call for help.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the driver of the motor home did not stop, and they have not been able to track them down.
