Oklahoma State's football team has an unusual start to the season this year.

The Cowboys begin the year by hosting Tulsa on Thursday, August 31.

OSU then will visit South Alabama the next week, on Friday, September 8, before traveling to Pittsburgh for a Saturday game on Sept. 16.

OSU head coach Mike Gundy explained why the Cowboys felt this was a good way to work the schedule.
