Teen taken to hospital after suffering injury in wood shop class at Edmond high school

EDMOND, Okla. – Emergency crews are responding to reports of a ‘traumatic injury’ at an Edmond high school.

Initial reports indicate an Edmond North High School student suffered a “traumatic injury” in wood shop class.

Officials with the Edmond Public School District say an 11th grade student was working on a project in wood shop class using a table saw.

District officials say the teen sliced his thumb and two fingers on the spinning blade when he reached for a piece of scrap wood.

The teen is currently in route to the hospital.
