Angel Tree program helping those in need this Christmas

OKLAHOMA CITY - The season of thankfulness and giving is here!

This year, the Salvation Army is challenging you to be an angel.

“Even though our Angels may never know where these gifts come from, the feeling they get on Christmas morning when they open their gifts will stay with them forever,” Major Charlotte Gargis, associate area commander of The Salvation Army Central Oklahoma, told KFOR in 2016. “Once again we ask for the community’s help to make Christmas bright for families in need so no child or senior is forgotten.”

News 4's Kevin Ogle was at the mall on Tuesday to help kick off this year's Angel Tree program.

It helps families with children and seniors by providing Christmas presents and a food box to those who would otherwise go without on Christmas. You can pick an angel off of the tree to fulfill the wish list and make a real difference in the life of a needy Oklahoman.
