OKLAHOMA CITY – Several shoppers across the state say an issue with their bank accounts put a damper on their Black Friday shopping.

Officials with MidFirst Bank tell News 4 that an issue with a third-party vendor resulted in some customers’ direct deposits not showing up in their accounts.

Derek Caswell, the director of marketing for MidFirst Bank, says its core processing company had a file that failed to post on Friday morning, which prevented those direct deposits from posting.

Experts say some customers may not have been able to make purchases early on Black Friday because of the issue.

Officials refused to say exactly how many customers were affected, but a customer service representative told News 4 that they had received hundreds of phone calls from customers on Friday morning about the issue.

Caswell says that the bank will cover all of the overdraft fees that may have been imposed due to the issue.

Fortunately, the issue has been fixed.
