Thunder Cannot Escape The Clutch, Fall 99-98 To Pistons

The Oklahoma City Thunder were looking to continue their momentum following a win over the Golden State Warriors, as they welcomed in an (11-6) Detroit Pistons team and former member of the Thunder, Reggie Jackson.

The Thunder led by four after the first quarter but continued to build their lead in the second. Oklahoma City went to the locker room with a 10 point lead at half.

Once again, the Thunder found themselves in a clutch situation. Former Thunder player Ish Smith gave the Pistons a two point lead with just over ten minutes remaining in the game. Oklahoma City was then caught in a game of catch up, the Thunder were down one with five seconds on the clock and off the in-bounds pass, Russell Westbrook’s three point attempt rattled out. Oklahoma City dropped a nail-biter, with a final score of 99-98.

Russell Westbrook had a triple double with 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.

The Thunder (8-10) travel to Dallas on Saturday with a 7:30 tip against the Mavericks.
