He led Oklahoma to their first and only national title game appearance so Billy Tubbs knows a thing or two about basketball and those who play it. And he's very impressed with freshman phenom Trae Young.

And so is the Big 12. The conference named him Big 12 Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks. It's the first time in Big 12 history that a freshman has won the award two of the first three weeks of the season.

Young scored 108 points in the PK80 tournament last weekend averaging 34.7 points per game. Including scoring 43 which is the most points an OU freshman has scored in a game since Waymon Tisdale. Young is second in the nation in scoring this season.

Billy Tubbs exclusively talked to Nate Feken. He compared him to Golden State star Steph Curry. He also projected how the youngster will translate in the years to come. That can be seen in the video above.
