MOORE, Okla. – One woman has died after she crashed her vehicle into a pond in Moore.

Moore police say it started around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday when they received a call about a reckless driver near S.W. 34th and Santa Fe.

When officers arrived, a witness told them the vehicle drove into the field, leaving the roadway from the above point.

They couldn’t find the vehicle at first but eventually found it submerged in a pond about 20 yards off the shore.

A rescue crew was called and firefighters went into the water where they were able to pull a woman from the vehicle.

She was transported to the hospital unconscious where she later died.

Divers remained in the water to search the vehicle to make sure there were not other victims inside.

Around 9 p.m., the woman’s silver sedan was pulled from the pond.

Officials are not sure why she drove her car into the pond at high speeds.

Police identified the woman as 20-year-old Ceegan Brewer from Moore.

Authorities are still investigating.
