OKLAHOMA CITY – A woman was taken into custody after she allegedly tried to steal tips left for waitresses at a local restaurant.

On Nov. 24, officers were called to Jimmy’s Round Up Cafe after waitresses told dispatchers that they were holding a woman who was trying to steal from them.

According to the arrest affidavit, witnesses told police that 39-year-old Rhonda Shirley walked into the restaurant and immediately took $10 that had been left as a tip on the table.

Witnesses said Shirley then went to another table and took $6 that was left as a tip.

The waitresses spotted Shirley and held her back to prevent her from leaving the restaurant while police were called. At that point, Shirley attempted to run to the women’s restroom but multiple customers restrained her.

Shirley was taken into custody on two counts of larceny.
