Cowboys Cruise Over Austin Peay

Oklahoma State’s men’s basketball team used a balanced scoring attack and had four players in double figures in a 79-63 win over Austin Peay on Wednesday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater.

Jeffrey Carroll led OSU with 17 points, as the Cowboys jumped to a big lead early and led 47-26 at halftime.

The Governors came back to cut OSU’s lead to single digits in the second half, but the Cowboys hung on to win, shooting 49 percent from the field and making 11 three-pointers.

Tavarius Shine and Lindy Waters both scored 12 points and hit a pair of 3-pointers, while Thomas Dziagwa had 11 points and made three 3-pointers.

OSU forced 20 Austin Peay turnovers and outscored the Governors 18-7 off turnovers.

The Cowboys improved to 6-1 on the season.

OSU next plays at home on Sunday vs. Mississippi Valley State at 2:00 pm at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
