It’s official. Netflix announced on Friday that it has renewed the hit series ‘Stranger Things’ for a third season.

The story of a group of friends in Hawkins, Indiana based in the 1980’s has gripped audiences and critics alike.

The first season proved to a be a big hit after receiving 18 Emmy nominations, and winning five those.

There was little doubt that a third season was in the making, but the streaming service made it official on Friday Netflix announced the move after conducting a poll on Twitter.

A release date for the upcoming third season has not been announced.
