Sooners Outrun Roadrunners in Norman

Oklahoma freshman guard Trae Young had 28 points to lead the Sooners to a 97-85 win over the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners on Monday night at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.

OU was in a tight game most of the evening before pulling away late to win.

Young struggled from 3-point range, making 2-of-11, but had eight assists and five rebounds to lead the way for Oklahoma.

Jamuni McNeace came off the bench to score 15 points and added 8 rebounds.

Christian James was the only other Sooner in double figure scoring with 14 points.

Oklahoma shot 46 percent to UTSA's 38 percent, but the Roadrunners hit 13 three-pointers to OU's 11.

UTSA is coached by former OU assistant  Steve Henson, who is in his second season with the Roadrunners.

Oklahoma improved to 6-1 on the season and next will play at USC in the Hall of Fame Classic on Friday night at 9:30 pm at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
