IT Director for Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools arrested for child pornography
CHOCTAW, Okla. – A man who was employed by Choctaw Public Schools is behind bars for allegedly downloading child pornography.
Court documents show that 49-year-old Forrest Freeman’s home was searched by a task force on Dec. 1.
Freeman, who was the Director of Technology for Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools, was taken into custody after investigators say they found more than 300 child-related pornographic images or videos on his Microsoft Surface.
According to court documents, the images involved girls between the ages of 2 years old and 12 years old.
His arrest sheet shows he was arrested for aggravated possession of child pornography, distributing child pornography and unlawful use of a computer.
According to the Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools website, Freeman is the Director of Technology for the district.
The school district released the following statement to parents regarding Freeman’s arrest.
“On Friday, December 1, 2017, law enforcement notified the Choctaw-Nicoma Park administration that Forrest Freeman III (an employee of our school district) was under investigation regarding child pornography. The safety of our students and integrity of our school district is always our top priority, and our district is fully cooperating with the police department in this ongoing investigation. Mr. Freeman was immediately suspended from his position and has since resigned. Mr. Freeman was employed for nineteen years in the district technology department. Mr. Freeman did not have any direct contact or supervision of any students in our district. As per the police, the investigation of Mr. Freeman does not include any school related issues, persons, students, or wrong doing on school property. The investigation of Mr. Freeman only revolves around matters outside of his employment with the school district.”
