BIXBY, Okla. – An Oklahoma parent is warning others after he discovered that teenagers are using a popular app to buy and sell drugs.
Snapchat is an app that allows users to send messages and photos that usually disappear within 24 hours.
However, one Oklahoma man says he fears that some messages are going to get local kids in trouble.
The parent told FOX 23 that he started to take a closer look at the Snapchat app after learning that some people were selling drugs on the app.
He says he found pictures of marijuana, Xanax and guns, along with messages advertising prices and personal conversations about buying drugs.
“I think that they think that they’re bulletproof and there’s no way that anyone can see their, what’s going on,” he said.
The man says he has alerted several police departments, and they are launching their own investigations.
