OKLAHOMA CITY – Police say one man has been taken into custody following a standoff in northwest Oklahoma City.

Around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, members of the Oklahoma City Police Department’s gang unit and Violent Crimes Task Force were attempting to locate 29-year-old Jerry Ray Ulrich.

Information regarding Ulrich’s whereabouts led officers to the Motel 6, located in the 6600 block of N.W. Expressway.

Officials with the police department say a warrant was issued for Ulrich’s arrest in connection with the kidnapping and shooting of a victim in Pottawatomie County.

When police arrived at the motel, investigators say Ulrich refused to come outside and barricaded himself in a room. As a precaution, all surrounding hotel rooms were evacuated.

Around 4:15 p.m., officials said the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
