Cowboys Fall to Shockers in Stillwater

Oklahoma State’s men’s basketball team started quickly, but couldn’t keep up with 6th-ranked Wichita State in a 78-66 loss to the Shockers on Saturday afternoon at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater.

Wichita State made 12 three-pointers, and Landry Shamet scored 23 of his career high 30 points in the second half.

The Cowboys also had to deal with foul trouble, with both Mitchell Solomon and Kendall Smith fouling out, and the Shockers took advantage, making 26 of 32 at the free throw line.

Tavarius Shine led OSU with 20 points and Solomon added 17.

The Cowboys made shot just 40 percent of their shots and were 6 of 21 from three point range.

OSU forced 19 Shockers turnovers, but were outrebounded 36-26.

The Cowboys fall to 7-2 on the season.

Next OSU will play Florida State in Sunrise, Florida, next Saturday at 1:00 pm central time.
