OKLAHOMA CITY – Police responded to an area in northwest Oklahoma City after a suspicious backpack was found.

Officials were near Wilshire and County Line Road.

Friday, police responded to the same area after a homeowner said he came home to find a burglar inside his house. The homeowner was hit in the head with a hatchet as he interrupted the burglar.

He was treated and released at the scene.

Oklahoma City police say they do not know if the two incidents are related but are currently treating it that way.

The Bomb Squad cleared the backpack and it will be taken back to the lab to be processed.

Police told News 4 they do not know what’s inside.

They are still investigating.
