Oklahoma man accused of beating wife to death with hammer

Derrick Wayne Stith

TULSA, Okla. – A Tulsa man is accused of beating his wife to death with a hammer.

On November 25, Derrick Wayne Stith, 24, took his wife’s severely beaten body to a local hospital, claiming he came home to find her beaten and robbed, the Tulsa World reports.

However, when investigators attempted to further question Stith about the murder of his wife, 21-year-old Kimberly Vo, he said he no longer wished to speak with them.

He allegedly provided police with a fake address.

When authorities searched the couple’s actual home, they discovered a hammer that they believed was a murder weapon.

Officials believe Vo was struck with a hammer between 50 and 80 times.

According to the Tulsa World, investigators also found blood inside the apartment and evidence that it had recently been cleaned.

They also discovered some duct tape with what is believed to be Vo’s hair attached to it in the trash can.

Family members told police that Stith, who is reportedly a member of the Red Mob Gangsters, has a lengthy criminal history and has assaulted his previous girlfriends.

Stith is facing a first-degree murder charge.
