DURANT, Okla. – If you ask firefighters in Durant how they feel about one another, they will likely say that they feel like they are family.

Now, their fire station’s family is warming hearts across the country.

In 2016, six Durant firefighters’ wives had babies within months of each other.

“It was unique to have six babies so close together in a small department such as ours,” Jake Midgley, a firefighter in Durant, told KXII.

When it came time to create a Christmas card, the department decided to showcase the babies instead of the firefighters.

“We wanted to showcase how our fire department represents family,” said Lacie Midgley, Jake’s wife.

The card quickly went viral, and now the department is showcasing the adorable kiddos again.

The department says it plans to recreate the photo year after year.

“They’re always gonna have a friend who is more like a family member, to be with, grow with,” Lacie said.
