Four people arrested after Oklahoma deputies find drugs, nearly $50k in vehicle during traffic stop

ROGERS COUNTY, Okla. – Four people were arrested after deputies found drugs, a gun and nearly $50,000 in a vehicle during a traffic stop.

Roger County deputies say they pulled over the vehicle Tuesday night when they saw it swerving into other lanes of traffic.

When they walked up to the car, deputies say they smelled marijuana, and then saw plastic bags with cash in the center console.

“Several things raised indicators to the fact that these gentlemen were hiding something,” said Roger County Sheriff Scott Walton.

After a search of the car, deputies found a gun, three bags of marijuana, $39,000 in cash and $9,000 in money orders.

“These are drug runners, they’ve got money, they’ve got dope and they’ve got guns. They’re a hazard to any place they stop,” Walton told Fox 23.

Officials said the men were driving a rental car and each had an out-of-state license.

Walton said the $50,000 will go back into his office to help with future arrests.
