OKLAHOMA CITY – Authorities say a 19-year-old man was taken into custody after allegedly shooting a woman during a robbery.

On Dec. 11, officers were called to a home along Azalea Ave. following a reported burglary. While on their way, dispatchers learned that a woman had been shot in the chest.

The victim told police that her neighbor was going to come over, so she left the front door open. Instead of her neighbor, two men armed with a gun stepped inside her home.

According to the arrest affidavit, the victim told police that she thought that it was a joke at first but soon realized that she was being robbed.

The victim claims that she was hit in the head several times as she tried to stop the men from grabbing her purse.

When they went to leave, the victim says she started fighting one of the men, who pushed her to the ground and fired the gun at her. Authorities say the bullet ricocheted and hit the victim in the chest.

A short time later, police arrested 19-year-old Chandler Crook on complaints of first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit a felony, robbery with a firearm, shooting with intent to kill and interfering with an emergency phone call.
