Thunder Start Fast, Cruise to Blowout Win Over Jazz

The Oklahoma City Thunder got off to a fast start and never let up in a 107-79 win over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night at Chesapeake Arena in Oklahoma City.

OKC started the game on a 17-2 run and led 25-9 after the first quarter.

The lead was 53-37 at halftime, and grew in the third quarter, building to 33 before winning by 28, the Thunder’s second largest win margin of the season behind the 32-point win over Chicago on October 28.

Five Thunder players scored in double figures, led by Russell Westbrook’s 24 points and 10 rebounds.

He also added 7 assists.

Both Paul George and Carmelo Anthony had 18 points, with both hitting a pair of 3-pointers.

Steven Adams and Jerami Grant had 11 points each, with Adams grabbing 9 rebounds, and Grant dunking in four of his five made field goals.

Grant’s another make was a 3-pointer.

The Thunder shot 52 percent from the field and held the Jazz to 36 percent.

OKC has won four of their last five, and improves to 16-15 on the season, the first time they’ve had a winning record since Halloween.

The Thunder wrap up their three-game homestand by hosting Atlanta Friday night at 7:00 pm at Chesapeake Arena.
