Suspect wanted in connection with Norman homicide taken into custody

Woman's body found in Norman

NORMAN, Okla. – Police said the man sought in connection to a homicide investigation near the University of Oklahoma has been taken into custody.

Norman police said Joe Alliniece, 29, was taken into custody without incident by Oklahoma City police at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. His arrest stems from a homicide on Norman’s southeast side.

Norman police responded at around 3 p.m Tuesday to an apartment complex in the 2800 block of Dewey Ave. for a medical call however later discovered a woman dead at the scene. Shortly after arriving, police began searching for Alliniece, who was seen leaving the scene.

The Emerald Greens Apartment complex is not far from the OU campus and prompted the university to send out a campus-wide alert. The apartment complex management is not commenting.

Norman police said Alliniece is being transported to department headquarters for questioning. Police have not yet released the victim’s name or age.
