Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray is in a battle for the starting quarterback spot against Austin Kendall this preseason.
By next spring, Murray is expected to be playing pro baseball, after being drafted ninth in the baseball draft by the Oakland Athletics.
For now, though, Murray is focusing on football, and getting snaps and practice time is already paying off.
Last Friday, OU head coach Lincoln Riley kept the door open for Murray to play two more seasons, after it had been reported multiple times Murray would play just one more season of football, then start his pro baseball career.
On Monday, Murray was asked about Riley's comments.
