Officers investigate shooting in NW OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY - Police are investigating a shooting that occurred just after 3 p.m. Saturday near NW 34th and MacArthur Blvd.

“There was one gunshot victim here who was transported by EMSA," said Don Clark with Oklahoma City Police. "We later learned that there was a second victim that was transported by private vehicle.”

Most people we talked to did not want to go on camera due to safety concerns. Police don't have a suspect and no arrests have been made.

However, one man who lives nearby did talk to us.

“Well, I was sitting in my room and I heard three gunshots went off pretty quick," said Bryan Ruth. "And I didn’t realize, you never realize how close it is to you. But today it happened to be really close, and it happened to be right down the street, which is pretty shocking.”

He says gunfire is all too common in the neighborhood and many people live in fear.

“There’s good folks that live around here and it’s just, it’s sad to see that, you know, people can’t just live a normal life," said Ruth. "People got to fear for their lives in situations like this."

Authorities have not released any information on the suspect.

This is a developing story.
