OKLAHOMA CITY - For National Nutrition Month, dietitians across the country are trying to educate the public about nutrition, a healthy lifestyle and physical activity.

While many people get caught up trying to make a balanced meal, quick snacks can also keep you on track throughout the day.

However, you don't need to spend hours preparing.

Making sure you have the right ingredients is essential to creating a healthy snack.

Dietitians say you should focus on lean proteins, fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

If you struggle with staying full, experts say you should mix things like whole grain crackers with cheese or hummus to stay satisfied until your next meal.

A great mix of protein, grains and fruit is a parfait with yogurt, raisins and Cheerios.

Before reaching for any yogurt, experts say you need to check the label to see the amount of sugar compared to the product's protein.

You can also try peanut butter and carrots on a whole grain cracker or a tuna salad mixed with avocado.
