Officials: Over 1,000 Oklahomans have been hospitalized with the flu this season

OKLAHOMA CITY – It’s no secret that the flu has hit the Sooner State.

Since the start of the flu season, 31 people have died from the flu and over 1,000 Oklahomans have been hospitalized.

According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health, 84 children under the age of 4-years-old have been hospitalized.

Also, 648 adults over the age of 65-years-old have been hospitalized.

Health officials recommend the flu vaccination for anyone six months of age and older.
