It can be tough to control your diabetes but experts say the key may be in the way you walk.
Experts say alternating the levels of intensity while walking is better than just one speed for managing blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes.
A study divided diabetic patients into either a controlled walking group, interval walking or continuous walking group and measured their insulin secretion as they exercised.
Four months later, only the interval walking group showed improved blood sugar control and overall glucose metabolism.
Experts say more long-term studies are needed to confirm the results before interval training becomes the standard for type 2 diabetes.
